depends on your goals,

if your trying to gain mass then its important to keep ramming that food down you, especially if your a hard gainer.

my apetite has gone down a little, but my body still craves about 6000 calories day in day out.

6000 a day... lol...

i always find that if im struggling to get an appetite for my food (very rare - will only ever happen if for some reason i have to squash 2 full meals into an hour of each other) the best way to get it back is to have a couple of mouthfulls of chocolate or a sugary sweet whilst im putting the food onto my plate... for me this stimulates both my appetite and my taste buds and gets the mouth watering.

also it could be that you are a little dehydrated with the hot weather and that is whats affecting your appetite.. so drink more throughout the day!

lee i think i might actually be drinking too much ! feels like ive constantly got that bloated feeling i suppose due to the weather.
apparently the feeling of quenching the thirst is in the top 3 " most satisfying feelings " along with sex and having a poo when your busting

so im not sure whether to try drinking less through the day,or try swapping a few supplements for a few meals,i know its not a good thing to do but im a bit stuck at the mo and feel guilty if the plates not empty after every meal !

Leglock, why don't you think its a good thing to switch to a few supplements?

Good, well designed supplements are scientifically engineered nutrition designed for the human body, a can of tuna isn't. Look at astronaughts, they spend 6 months in a space station living on supplements, would NASA allow all the money they've spent on getting these people up there if they were unable to complete their tasks or were going to end up with malnutrition?

My Mrs won her fist 2 shows on 2 solid meals a day and the rest in supplements, so don't feel you're short changing your body by using supps. Just be selective on what you buy and look into its nutrient value.

extreme...im only going by what ive read on here and what ive been told..i was told supplements should never be a substitute for REAL food....if i had my way mate id eat 1 meal per day and take the rest in supplements

so in theory then if i was looking to build mass and am fed up with stuffing my face with food, what kind of supplements would i need and how often etc ?

much appreciated if you can take this horrible bloated feeling away

you would need a supplement which was a direct (or better) replacement for a meal you would normally eat! and that depends on the macronutrient profile of the meal your substituting.

bear in mind also that many MRPs etc are digested much faster than whole foods so it may be that you have to leave less of a gap between them and your next meal.

i have a mate who basically drinks all his meals... Protein/carbs drinks... he is a fantastic bodybuilder and physique wise has the potential to one day turn pro in my opinion.. however the last 2 times hes dieted for a show hes ended up in hospital... i think alot of this is because his body is not getting the nutrients and roughage etc it needs from whole foods! (stomach lining when taking tablets etc).. hes currently dieting for a show with 8 weeks to gi and looking fantastic! so fingers crossed he might make it this time!
