| Under Construction | A guy told me at the gym the other day that excess protein can actually turn to fat. I thought it just came out in your piss. I used to have a protein shake before bed everyday (as well as the rest) regardless of whether I had trained that day or not. But I stopped after this because I dont want to pile on the flab. Should I take one before bed or not? Will it actually help me gain muscle? Also, is it possible to lose flab and put on muscle at the same time? I know you need to have lots of carbs to make gains, but are there types of carbs, or certain workouts that will enable me to lose flab as well as gain muscle? How about an hours fat burn after every weight session? Thanks |

| Under Construction | hhmm- not too sure of the calorie amounts but: I usually start the day with a protein shake and a banana. Somnetimes a bowl of cereal if I have time. For lunch I usually have a sandwich under 350 calories if I can with a nutrigrain bar (about 150 calories) and a bottle of water, or a plate of salad, potatoes and 5 or 6 eggs with the yolks removed. In the evening I usually have chicken or tuna with new potatoes and a big bowl of salad. If I'm training I have a protein shake about an hour after training, usually just before eatoing chicken or tuna. hhm. Is protein overload? And if I've done a heavy chest session I usually have a shake before bed as well. Quite a good diet, but I have to admit I often have a bit of a wine session at the weekend. Bad I used to drink during the week as well, and I don't drink as much at the weekends now! Can I help by having a fat burn session after lifting weights? This wont hinder the effects of the weights will it? I'm about to post some pictures of my present state. Not very impressive i'm afraid! I have lost alot of weight and gained a bit of muscle but not as much as hoped. |

Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day the other one being the PWO shake... i would suggest this diet in the week then relax a little on the weekends... meal 1: Oats + 1 banana, 2 scoops blended protein or 6 egg whites/3 whole eggs Meal2: MRP drink + handful of almonds Meal 3: chicken breast with basmati rice or baked potato's Meal4: MRP drink + handful of almonds Meal 5 PWO: 2 scoops extreme build and recover Meal 6: chicken breast/lean steak or salmon along with salad and veg Meal 7: Blended protein shake (this meal depends on metabolism and goals) i don't know your stats so it is hard to define exact amounts but you should aim for approx 1.5g of protein per lb of body weight per day.... |
