One of the best ways to speed a metabolism up is to break your meals up into 6 small meals per day. Getting adequate rest a night also speeds metabolism. Waking up and taking a quick run in the morning also helps.

Remember that after cardio, your metabolism remains elevated for several hours , try spliting your cardio up doing 30 min in the morning and the same at night keeping you metabolism up,

Also when dieting be carefull not to restrict your caleries so low that your metabolism becomes sluggish

you are correct that the metabolism remains elavated after you finish but after only 30min cardio it will only be elevated for 1-2hrs the real jump is when you do 45-60min...

Hammer - your diet is ok'ish but could be soo much better..
here is my advice..

this is good...

all i have done is taken out the carbs from pasta and spuds later on in the day and replaced the other carb sources with lower GI sources for sustained release.
also i have suggested you use good fats as this will help release fats for fuel.

hope this helps...
