Default getting sugar after a workout

hi everyone. I am new to the site and would be grateful of some advice.

I always eat about 40-50g of sugar (dissolved in water) straight after a weights session as i read somewhere before that it starts the growing process. I then have my protien shake about 15 mins later. I have had a look through the forums at peoples diets and have not noticed anything about it. Am I right in this approach, advice/opinions appreciated.

looks fine to me. Although, I'm a bit lazy and have both drinks in one 70g glucose & 30g protein in 700ml water. I then like to have a calorie dense meal 1 1/2 hour later.

I wouldn't use sugar, you'd be better off with maltodextrin IMO,
