I think there is a HUGE difference between having a couple of glasses of wine and getting totally pissed!

A few glasses of wine on a sat night won't really effect your gains, getting arseholed will!

alcohol raises estrogen levels and therefore inhibits muscle growth to a degree. however like andy said - 1 or 2 beers wont hurt but if you go out and get wankered then you wont gain. another thing is that if you go out and get drunk it usually also means tha you get in laste and wake late meaning disruption of eating and sleep patterns.

Alcohol contains empty calories. A small glass of red wine is pretty good for the heart.

it also lowers natural test production, inhibiting recovery and muscle growth.

Whiskey and red wine are actually good for you in moderate/sensible amounts. Just don't drink too much!
