Default NUTS???

Hi all

Just wondered whether nuts are good for bulking as well as keeping trim? i dont eat the salted or dry roasted nuts, just good old natural stuff. But they all carry a hi content of fat, is this good?

Cheers

I think the answer is kinda obvious my friend. You said it, the contain lots of fat. For bulking, sure, i LOVE dry roasted nuts. But If i were trying to shift a bit of fat, they would go.

Hope that helps matey.

Paul....

bulking and keeping trim(and by this i assume cutting) are completely different things.

Nuts are good in small amounts for bulking (i have unroasted unsalted cashews) but as FierceFrets says, they are high in fat, so if your cutting then i'd leave em out.

You need to distinguish between bulking and cutting my friend or inevitably you will fail in your diet.

Nick

Nick

Im not to bothered about cutting at the moment just bulking up and losing body fat. So im keeping the fat levels down aswell as the carbs, would this work?

What Nick is saying is that you cant really do both!!

you can EITHER bulk (and expect to put on a little fat, its healthy/almost needed at this point) OR cut (lose fat). You cant plan for both at the same time.

You EITHER eat more calories than your burning (bulking) OR you eat less calories than your burning (cutting).

You cant loose bf when bulking, unless roiding, but to keep putting on bf try to avoid simple carbs/sugars and go for complex carbs.

Just in case you dont know, Maltodextrin wouldnt be classed as complex.

See your contradicting yourself here.. 'just bulking up and losing body fat' that IS bulking and cutting.

If your bulking you don't want to cut anything out, you want high protein, moderate to high carbs, and low to medium fats (although there are different point of views on this)

When cutting you most likely want very high protein, low fat and carbs.
