Default Protein intake intervals

Sorry if this is covered in other posts - but what is the minimum period between taking protein meals/shakes that allows for useful digestion. I've really ****ed that question up haven't I?

In other words, when I have a post workout shake, how soon after that can I have a full meal so that protein digestion is efficient? Does that make sense yet?

If there is already a post about this pls link me there. Thanks

Right , for example I'll have whey in water after a workout then I'm usually eating dinner within 40 - 60 mins, so what I mean is is that enough time for the protein to get digested before my system starts on the proper meal? It's often the same a.m., I have a shake on waking then I'm usually eating breakfast let's say 40 odd mins after that.

In terms of proper meals, I do indeed try to get something down me every 2 - 3 hours.

i usually do what u do igulp.

your talking about overdoing protein rather than underdoing it potentially, so i suppose it shouldnt really matter. overdo it and you'll just poo any out u dont need !

I believe that your protein absorbtion capability is higher post workout, so if u have a scoop of whey in water post workout that would be quickly absorbed as far as i know and its fine to produce something more substantial that will absorb over a longer period of time such as some chicken breast with jacket potato for example

The answer to your question really depends on the type of protein ingested. Below is a useful chart showing the digestion rates of various protein sources:-
