Posts: 573 Rep Power: ![]() | when does catabolism actually kick in? how long can you go with out food befor catabolism starts and would it first use up all your body fat befor moving to muscle? after all thats what body fat is for isnt it? any info? |

If you are losing fat then you will lose muscle but things can be done to make the body retain more muscle while lowering bodyfat. Also you can make "teach" your body to use fat as its primary fuel source. Unfortunately if you are in a catablollic state then muscle along with fat will be lost, you just have to be smart to insure that you are losing more of the latter. ______________________ 50% of Training is nutrition 50% of Training is not overtraining If you cant gain see the above. |

| Making Progress Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Way Out West Posts: 578 Rep Power: ![]() | At the hormonal level controlling cortisol can have a significant impact on controlling muscle catabolism. The big cortisol killer is insulin, probably the most anabolic hormone. As part of my PCT in a few weeks I'll be trying an injectable 7-OH product from Designer Supplements that controls cortisol. I'll post my results when I use it. |
