I finish at the same time as you mate and my post workout meals differ depending on if I'm bulking or cutting. At present I am cutting so this is what my post workout meals are now

19:00 (sometimes 19:30) directly after my last set - 85g Whey Protein
20:00 (sometimes 20:30) - 280g tuna/chicken, 60g oats
23:00 - 150g tuna, veg

Bulking its like this

19:00 - 19:30 directly after my last set -60g maltodextrin, 45g Whey
20:00 - 20:30, 200g chicken/tuna, 100g oats, 3 slices of wholegrain bread
23:00 - 1.5 Pro MR sachets, 4 shredded wheat, 3-4 rice cakes

This is all relative to your own Bodyweight and BF%

J

Hi mate,

I am in slight dis-agreement about post training nutrition.

I believe carb intake is most important post training wether you are cutting or bulking as you need to replenish your dropped glycogen levels asap.

On both occassions i will have 60g whey mixed with 50g glucose/dextrose powder (simple fast acting carbs) and when using creatine i throw in 5g to the mixture.

When cutting the 2 most important times to get your carbs in is on rising in the morn (oats) and post workout (glucose/maltodextrin)

The following meal if bulking will contain nice complex carbs such as rice with veg and chicke/tuna etc and if cutting low/zero carb meal with plenty of protein, veg etc

But we are all in agreement i think that the most anabolic peroid to get the food in is definately post workout

i,m cutting right now,

i have 200 grams rice before weights at 10 am

and 100 grams rice after weights at about 12.30

this keeps my muscles fed.

i dont have anymore after this until the next day.
