A multi-vitamin/mineral supplement couldn't hurt. Try adding a protein shake to add quality calories to at least 2 meals. Especially your post-workout meal. Have you tried changing your traing? A plateau isn't uncommon so don't panic. If it wasn't uncommon we would all grow continuosly.

You shouldn't plateau after just a couple of months how long you been following the my begginers routine which by the way isn't a split routine as you said in your other post its a full body workout 3 times a week you haven't split it up have you let me know and i'll sort it as for diet you need to work out how much protein and complex carbs and calories you get each day chicken is about 20 gms protein/100gms so do the maths then post the amounts and your body weight and we'll take it from there.

Ok im 6ft 2, 11stone 5, heres my calorie intake, 165 protien, 370 carb, 80 fat.I havnt been doing your routine long gary, only a couple of weeks and im pleased with the wieght training as its working me harder than my old routine.I do it as you explained 3 times a week ,ignore what i wrote last time about calling it a split i just didnt know what to call the routine, it was just my way of explaining its a 3 day a week workout. My muscles are slowly still growing, its the wieght gain thats stopped and thats my main way of telling if im progressing.I wanted to reach a lean 12 stone buy june this year, as that was my origional short term goal,i was gaining about a pound or more a week first of all and its pissed me of as to why its stopped?,the worst thing for me is ive got to eat more, but i made myself sick a couple of nights ago trying to raise my calorie intake.I can manage what im eating above and do so every day but i just cant manage 1 more calorie.

Divie heres something to try if you want ... just try and forget about your weight for a month or two, stick to your current diet and just concentrate on increasing your lifts. Set yourself targets for them and don't weigh yourself untill your reach them, take a week off, and then start trying to add weight again.

Might help you to get through your plateau

cheers, ill try to avoid stepping on to the scales every day,ill get my missus to hide them for a month coz i cant resist stepping on to them.I take it you think my diets ok then, im going to take your advice and concentrate on strength building and hopefully the body will develop in its own time.I have definatly realised that changing your physique takes time but im enjoying the new workout im doing know and enjoyong it helps, its the diet thats the hardest part for me,Ive always known i didnt eat enougth, ive always wieght trained, but my diet hasnt been good, its probably not brilliant now but since ive been eating properly i have seen progression that ive never seen before, so i try to keep learning which in turn should help me reach my goals.Im going in holiday in may this year and im worried thats going to ruin my progress as im going to start cutting in 2 months.I havnt really got a lot of wieght to cut anyway as ive only gained a stone but i have to cut in as my stomache isnt ripped at all and bieng skinny it needs to be, i know you should spend longer cutting but because i havnt been bulking long, a month will be plenty to get my stomach sorted.I dont know what to expect when cutting, will the wieght ive gained come sraight of? as that will be a bit of a sickner.Im just going to stop having my wieght gain shake and do some serious sit ups then hopefully i shouldnt loose to much weight as bieng 11 stone 5 i havnt got much bulk to play with.As soon as im back of holiday im going to bulk for 10 months ready to cut in for next summer, sounds good in theory but it will be interesting to see how i get on.Im going to read the forum on cutting.
STAY LUCKY GARY AND BENJI

If your 6'2" and only 11.5 stone you cant have anything to cut you need to have some mass to show when you cut. Some of you guys starting out get too obsessed with the six pack look of the guys on the cover of mens health if you want to be big then you need to add bulk you should commit the rest of this year to bulking and aim to cut up for next year building muscle is a long term thing you cant work miracles in a few weeks.

For your current body weight you need to consume at least 241 gms of protein and 322 gms af carbs a day but if you have an active life you will need to add extra carbs. Believe me i know how hard it is to eat everything you need but if its such a struggle at 11.5 stone how are you going to cope with it when your 18 stone and need 400gms protein and 500 gms carbs. The answer is not to eat it but drink it if youve got the cash buy a good prtein/carb drink make sure the carbs are complex as alot of them just use suggars to up the carb count. If you aint got the cash for that then raw eggs with a bananna in and a bit of milk give protein and liquidised rice and fruit juice will provide the carbs it all depends how much you want it. Its tuff downing all this stuff day in day out but its the only way.

It dont matter how perfect your training is or how much gear you take if you dont provide your body with what it needs in the quantities it needs it you will not progress

As a general rule when you stop gaining weight increase your calorie intake by 1000 calories a day you can start gaining again today all you need to do is EAT.

Thanks gary,if you read the post i wrote at 1300 today it explains that im planning to bulk for 10 months and then cut in for next summer.I dont want to reach 18 stone as that would just not be me,i want to eventually get to 13 stone thats all,Maybe im on the wrong web site as heavy wieght body building is not for me.I know what i can achieve and i know how long it takes. You cant of read my previous post as it explains all of this.I dont have nothing to cut your right but i am seeing less of my abs every day which is fine as im bulking, but when i go on holiday i want my abs back thats not a crime is it.I understand what your saying but your aims are way different to mine, maybe that is because you started at a different point then me.Its no good me thinking of 18 stone as thats 7 stone away.Im trying to keep my goals realistic. If you were my size you would know abs are essential to enhance my physique, there is nothing worse than a skinny guy with a gut are you with me.I hope i havnt come across to strong but in a nutshell im going to cut my carb intake and get my 6 pack back for the 1 weeks holiday, then like i explained before, after the holiday bulk for 10 -12 months and cut in for next summer.I think doing this i will be a lean 12 1/2 stone next year which i would be happy with.To be honest my main reason for wieght training is for strength not physique, i dont think im going to raise my calorie intak at all .Im going to stick with my current diet wich isnt far of your recomened amount anyway as i havnt counted the protien from the pints of milk i drink, and that way i can enjoy life eat happily train hard and still get slow gains to a certain extent and thats good enougth for me.You could call it keeping healthy rather than body building.

I expect age will help me bulk anyway as im only 21 and when you get older your metabelism slows so, growing up, eating more than the average guy, training hard and correctly will still help me progress. It may be a slower progress but a progress that will im sure unoticiably help.

I read every word of your post mate always do, was just suggesting you continue bulking through to next summer. I was assumeing your goals were more like mine.

You sound like you know what you want and have a good idea of how to achieve it so you should get there mind you when you do i wouldnt be suprised if you set the bar a little higher seeing your physique grow and change can become very addictive and your right setting short term goals is the best way for success.

By the way you don't need to change sites your goal;s are what we are about also and your welcome on here its not just for big meat heads like me.
