Diets are pretty much an individual thing, what works for one person may not work for another. Best thing to do is to read through this forum and also the Diet & Nutrition one for further information... As a guide you should be eating along the lines of 35/45/20. That's 35% Protein, 45% Complex carbs and 20% Fats (omega 3's) ie; fish oils, flaxseed ect.. The only way to grow is to feed your body the right ingredients. DIET is key TRAINING is key REST is key Get these 3 right and you will grow well, get them wrong and you won't. It's all about dedication to growing, how much do you want it ? Peace, Abs | |

I have experimented with my food group ratio's constantly to find the best for different routines. Bear in mind that 1 gram of carbs or protein = 4 calories, 1 gram of Fat = 9 calories. This is beacuse fat holds more kilocalories per gram than carbohydrates or protein to maximise is energy. This is why seeds/nuts contain fat rather than carbohydrates as for their size and weight thay maximise the efficiency of energy storage. For hypertrophy my CALORIE ratio is Protein = 33% Carbohydates = 54% Fat = 13% For losing bodyfat (reduced by 500 calories daily) my CALORIE ratio is Protein = 38% Carbohydates = 42% Fat = 20% I reduce my carbohydrates by 700 calories and increase my fat intake by 200 calories. There is alot of differing information on intake of foods but experiment with it, just make sure that you are eating enough calories. This is usually the first reason people cant gain weight. For example when moving up from 14.5 stone I wa eating at least 3700 calories. At 16.5 stone I was eating about 5000 calories just to maintain my weight. What bodyweight and BF level are you at at the moment. J ______________________ 50% of bodybuilding is nutrition 50% of body building is not overtraining If you cant gain see the above |
