Default supplements for fat burning ??

my mate at work wants to lose excess body fat but still develop/maintain lean muscle, his main aim is a 6-pack.

Any ideas for supplements? only he suffers from high blood pressure?

He is already on a 'no carbs after 5' diet and doing cardio workouts every sat/sun morning plus gym sessions in the week.

cheers for any help.

To get a six pack you've basically got to strip the body of fat to the extreme. To do this you've got to have a fantastic diet, really strict and even then its not easy for everyone. I've got a mate who is 6ft 1, 12 stone, 6% bf, fit as f*k and he still hasn't got abs on show, its just not easy for him whatever he does. He's tried ECA, and lost body fat bigtime but still cannot see his abs! Everyone is different.

Wouldn't recommend ECA if he's got high blood pressure, all I can suggest is train damn hard and heavy, no cheat meals, low intensity cardio and perhaps try some natural diuretics, like vitamin c, cider vinegar, kelp, Soya Lecithin and vitamin B6 which aids fat metabolism. The diuretics help get rid of excess water which may help in the appearance of the muscles.

No quick fix really, but hope it helps

I agree with Gail he has got to be very careful with fatburners as they way they work is by speeding up your metabolism to the extreme. This also mean the heart has to work very hard so it could cause problems with his high blood pressure.

Like Gail said the best way to do it is train hard with the weights and cardio (doiung Abs in 2 small sessions a week) but most importantly he will need to clean the diet up.

Holland and barrett do KLB6 which has Kelp, soya lecithin, vitamin b6 and cider vinegar, take 6 a day, along with vitamin c and a B complex to aid fat metabolism.

Brewers yeast good too, and dirt cheap.

Dandelion leaf is a mild diuretic, but IMHO do the cardio / diet first as diuretics pull water and not fat.

I've had a heart valve replaced and my heart is weakend due to me having had a faulty valve for 32 years. I've been using our Lean-R product without any ill effect and in the morning before going to get my blood monitored and it has had no effect on my BP.

take a look at http://www.extreme-nutrition.co.uk/p...nts/Lean-R.php

Best bet is to hit a high protein diet as hard as you can. After 2pm do not eat any more carbs, what you want to do is ensure that you have a further 3 or 4 meals after this with just protein.

My cutting diet is basically in the morning 2 meals with:

White fish / Tuna with 65g of brown rice.

After 12pm I do not touch carbs and eat the following through the day:

Tins of tuna
White fish
Red fish during weekends
Chicken Breasts
Turkey breasts
Steak (LEAN)
Mince meat (Extra LEAN)

These are the staples of a good cutting diet. Having lost so much weight over the past 18 months i have excess skin.

Hope this helps
