Default comments on diet please

Here is a typical diet for me. Any opinions would be welcomed.

Meal 1 - Special K, Homemade protein/carb bar, Protein Shake

Meal 2 - Chips and mushroom Chicken (the best food I can get at work)

Meal 3 - Large Chicken Snadwich with salad

Meal 4 - Lasagne or canelloni with cucumber, Protein Shake

Meal 5 - Brown rice flavoured with chicken stock, 4 eggs

Meal 6 - Jacket potatoe and tin of Tuna, Protein Shake

I think I am getting a good amount of protein but I want to increase my carb intake and decrease my fat intake (which I don't watch at the moment).

Cheers, Matt

Diet doesn't look too bad, its a bit unfortunate about the work food!

Are you bulking?

I don't think you need to reduce fat just eat more complex carbs, its more important when cutting!

Ice,
i see no real large amounts of fat! So i am not sure where you are going to cut them from. Consuming fat is not a problem(needed for healthy membranes, hormone production, vitamin absorption, etc), consuming TOO MUCH fat is a problem.
The diet seems fine, though i don't spy much fruit going on.

Any supplements as yet? You may wish to consider a weightgainer instead of pure protein to help up the cals more. Also, why protein bar and shake in the morning???Maybe put shake with second meal?

Milk is always a good source of cals/protein/carbs/minerals if you can carry some with you through the day....

cheers guys,

Which foods contain complex carbs?

Yeah the protein bars I made contain 20g of whey and 1 serving of the whey im using contains 24g so I felt that on their own (with the special k) they dont really provide enough protein. All my other meals contain more than 30g.

yeah I do consume alot of fruit, usually with a shake before i go to bed, either apples or bananas. Are these a good carb source? Should I mix protein shake with milk? Ive heard its better when you want slow digestion, although it only suggests water on the back of the pack (Dymatize elite whey).

Tried a weightgainer but didnt really see any improvement. Tried a tub of 'progain'. Im on a bit of a budget becuase I'm a student so only taking protein supplements at the moment. When I have the cash I will probly buy some creatine.

progain tastes good, but as par for Maximuscle the prices are a J-O-K-E. shop around online.

whey shake with milk before bed is good as the casein will give a more sustained release of amino acids(as opposed to the BANG you get with whey).

fruit is fine, especially when bulking.
