| Making Progress | I have been stuck on 14st 1lb for about 2 weeks now. After adding a stone and a half in no time at all, I seem to have halted on 14st 1lb. I'm eating loads of the right stuff, doing cracking training sessions (making sure I'm doing quality reps etc) and I'm not budging the weight. Getting a bit hacked off. Any ideas why it has stopped/slowed? I have increased what I'm eating too. I am noticing that even tho I'm eating loads of food, my abdominal area is slimming up and my abs are showing thru. Quite nice, but I'd rather be adding weight just now. Its not making much sense to me at the minute. I have been working hard in the gym - even to the point that when I got home on Saturday after my shoulder/traps session, I had a brute of a nose bleed! Worst Ive had actually!! Lasted about 45mins! Any ideas as to what might be happening? My diet has about 5000 cals and I dunno what else I can do....Do I just need to be more patient? I added 21lbs in 8 weeks, so maybe I am just going thru a slower patch and need to give it time? U think? heeellllpppppppppppp   Si ______________________ http://www.gibbarchitects.co.uk/BLUE%20LOGO.gif |

It could also be that you are over working muscles. If the nose bleeds are frequent or become frequent see your GP for a check up. Hope things improve for you, Barry Quote:

| Under Construction | Be realistic- if people were putting on 21lb every 8 weights we would live in world of Ronnie Colemans. Of course the brakes come on sometimes, do not be disheartened. I view this as respite for the body, accumulating so much mass is taxing and can eventually be a burden on the skeletal structure. Keep the cals high, maybe ease off on the volume of weights you are doing, drop any cardio and minimise stress away from the gym. Get the Creatine now and worry about the rest later, or never. Creatine will help- though the degree will depend on your natural levels of Creatine, if they are already high- it won't be as beneficial as were they low. Though you won't know until you do it. Go for it (and keep in mind how much you have achieved already). ______________________ "You're hit man, you're bleedin"-"Ain't got time to bleed" |

By the way, Ronnie Coleman don't look as good as Schwarzenegger did in my honest opinion, not that either of them got there naturally Barry Quote:

| Making Progress | Maybe my body is just taking a breather like you say. I realise I won't put on 21lbs every eight weeks - I ain't daft. Just wondered why there was a hiatus. Hopefully it picks up soon. The resaon I put on weight so fast in the beginning was because my diet and lifestyle was appauling before hand. My body must have thought it was Christmas with all the goodies I was putting in it, and decided to sprout. I'll keep at it and see how it goes. Especially if you've been caning it for 8 weeks solid. Many of us hit plateau's because of overtraining and react by piling on the weight or volume. You don't see any results and then keep piling on more and there you go...down in an ever decreasing cycle. Take a step back mate and look at what you are putting your body through. Gotta give it time to recover and grow I take a week off every 5-6 weeks, 'cos I push it like a lot of the folks on here and have learned as got caught overtraining in the past... good luck |

| Making Progress | Cheers Mutley. I'm just back in from the gym there, where I had my b.p. checked. It was 150 over 105! Apparently that is very high, so I've been told not to come back until saturday when they are gonna check my b.p. again. I have been working out very hard for four months solid, so I probably do need a wee break  Its been going so well, and I can appreciaite that my body has been going thru a lot. F*cking stupid bodies eh?!?!? Who needs em! Hopefully a week off will do good. They also told me to take a break from the protein shakes too as that is putting the kidneys under pressure and helping to keep my b.p. high. What a pisser. Si  ______________________ http://www.gibbarchitects.co.uk/BLUE%20LOGO.gif |

IMHO, If you have a good break, say 10 days, you'll go back feeling so much better it'll really drive home just how fatigued you were... 4 months solid pushing hard is too much mate. Sounds like you're on the right track now |

| Under Construction | Barry, i didn't say 21lb in 8 weeks was impossible. What i was saying is that people cannot expect that rate of weight gain indefinitely. Simon, when was your BP taken? post work out? who took it? also, i'm a little suspicious of the protein shake/BP comment. ______________________ "You're hit man, you're bleedin"-"Ain't got time to bleed" |
