I don't have time to do my cardio and resistance training at different points in the day etc so I go to the gym, do my weight training and then do my hour or so of cardio (sometimes mixing it up a bit). I always have a high protein meal when I get home (tuna, chicken etc.) but have been hesistant to have too many carbs because of my diet (even though I know I should have carbs post-workout to hold onto muscle gains.. i think?) Also, simple or complex carbs? Would a sports drink (high in simple carbs) be a good POST-workout (I sometimes have one pre-workout and during)? Or should I go for something more along the lines of pasta? Thanks guys, just a lil confused :? ______________________ Live the dream - nothing's impossible |

Try only consuming the carbs then (if <100 g/d) Also try cycling carb intake -low one day- moderate the next- low the next etc. I find this a great way of shifting fat and keeping muscle rather than going into steady continual ketosis. Plus your breath doesnt smell bad |

(This is aswell as protein post-workout, obviously) or would simple carbs at least be OK and work in the same way as complex post-workout in terms of extra energy source/holding onto muscle etc.? cheers ______________________ Live the dream - nothing's impossible |

Both high GI but malto takes longer to release all its sugar. |
