| Making Progress | O.k. mate the first thing you shouldnt be doing is planning a set menu, this will result in your body eating the same things, over and over and as a result, staleness will set in along with boredom, and you will lose stimulation to keep your bodys needs on track, best thing i can advise is to stick to the basics, chicken, rice, red meat, etc and if it looks plain tart it up read some recipe books or check out some serving suggestions, and you actually end up a fairly decent cook, at the same time you are learning about it, you will feel a sense of achievement in what you have made, give it a go mate you have nothing to lose. | Making Progress | Hiya mate, to be honest i buy ready made sauces, the ones in sachets, from any good supermarket, i think schwartz are the main ones you actually get recipes on the back of the sachet, to encourage you to make your meal, e.g. i use mexican chili chicken sachet, and another example is tuna pasta bake, which is lovely, but all you need to do is have a look at the sachets and they will give you all the help you need. One I really love with a steak is low fat cream blue stilton cheese (I'm sure you can probably get this low fat or whatever) black pepper Just stick the cheese and cream in a pot/pan and heat it until the cheese melts. Keep mixing and add some black pepper. Mess about with the amounts of each until you get a nice, thick, creamy sauce. Note: you must keep stirring so that it does't curdle and go all rank. Mess about with it and pour it on a steak.. lovely ______________________ Live the dream - nothing's impossible |

Turn the heat onto medium and let it all sweat down but not colour - this'll take about 15mins. Chuck in the toms and turn heat down to low, leave for a bit uncovered to reduce just stir every now and again - if it gets too thick add a little water/red wine. Just before it's at the consistency you want chuck in the herbs and pepper. This is good warm or cold and is a good base for things like chicken chilli, beef chilli, or any recipie that needs a tomato sauce. |
