Hey all, I made the bars yesterday afternoon and let them set, they turned out pretty well, except for the amount of honey, i put in a little to much. Apart from that they are fine. Quite tasty actually.

Steve,

I have made this a Sticky mate as it would benefit alot of people and Dave seems to like them. It will benefit those who want something to eat whilst on the run/at work etc and is quick and easy.

Bump guys!!!

Does anyone have a recipie ofr a LOW carb protein bar?

All the recipies I've seen include oats and honey!

I was thinking along the lines of mixing whey with skimmed milk powder and peanut butter but not sure how to 'firm' it up or what to cover it in.

I agree with the last comment. When you look at recipes for home made bars they just look like the makings of junk food. Are there any recipes using something non-syropy and buttery to hold the powder together?

Maximuscles Cyclone bar contains the following ingrediants:-

(high quality blend of whey), milk proteins, inverted sugar syrup, dark chocolate (13%), creatine monohydrate, oligofructose, bulking agent: maltitol, vegetable fat, defatted cocoa powder, stabilisers: glycerol, sorbitol, L-glutamine, calcium 2-methyl-2-hydroxy-butyrate (HMB), vegetable oil, flavour.

It also has the other stuff like Creatine etc but if you tryed to use the above to make just a nrmal protein bar it would be very very hard indeed as the stuff will be hard to come by.

Im not sure how you could create a home recipe high protein low carb bar.

manufactured bars are all junk really, they are there for the convenience of 'if you have to use them' IMO
