(Aim for a steady fat loss each week). Don't be too restritive with your food's (Chicken and water) it wont last and isnt healthy, your not getting the right balance you need from that. Seems fine though... As you know keep your protein high to stop muscles from been burned as fuel and also train as hard as you can to also prevent your muscles from been used as fuel. To finish I would say include a little more carbs, they are not evil and have a purpose in the human body, the brain needs carbs and taking in a bit more carbs won't make you moody and tired etc. Best to experiment with 150grams of carbs a day and if your not losing fat decrease to 125g a day and if not down to 100g a day and if not 75g a day, but don't go to low or you will pay for it...you'll know if you don't listen to what Im saying.... You don't want your body to use what protein your eating each day to be used as fuel but it will unless you eat enough carbs to prevent this. You want to protein work at building your muscle/maintaining what you have rarther than have it to provide you with fuel and lose alot of protein you consume each day instead of been used for whats it's intended for. The slower you lose fat the longer it stays off, the quicker you lose fat the quicker it WILL come back (apart from Liposuction). |

The only way you will lose weight quickly and be set up for it to come back on is if you go on some whacky crash diet. Reduction of calories is the first key to losing weight. To keep as much strength as possible, only a reduction of 500 cals off your daily burn rate. Next, aim for cardio. Ok, so too much cardio will burn muscle but don't be afraid to hit the exercise bike. I would say 45 mins at least 3 times a week (not only will this burn fat but improve your endurance). The best time is in the morning as you don't have any glycogen stored in your muscles so you will burn more from fat. Have a Thermogetic first like ripped fuel or something and some glutamin to reduce muscle loss. The last point is carb timing. Have 50% of daily calorific allowance after the reduction, from carbs. For instance, if you were going to cut your cals to 2000 a day you would have 250g of carbs (1g carb=4cals). Have half that amount before weights and half after and try for as little as possible throughout the rest of the day. Preferably have this amount at least 6 hours before sleep so you dont have any sitting on you while you sleep and not being utilised. Now, this works like a mirical for me but everyone is not the same genetically, however, give it a go and i reckon you will not be sorry. |

I have been trying to lose body fat for good couple of months by cutting out almost all carbs except for oats at breakfast. It did work for a few weeks, but now I seem to have stabilised, and I just feel knackered by the time I leave work and go training. I have found that I am not able to lift the weights I was a couple of months ago which is really demoralising and frustrating. So I am now eating carbs for breakfast and lunch, even if its only 50grms at lunch, I have noticed I am not lethargic, and last night i trained like a demon!! Body fat hasn't changed yet (only been 2 weeks so must stick at it) but I feel better. Thanks for the pointer though, especially the carb calc. very interesting..... gail |
