Hi mate, i think partially at least that the cafeine content, itself wouldnt help, but overall i personally think that it just poisons your system with all the crap in it, i may be wrong though. Interesting point youve made.

Diet Coke/Pepsi does have very little calories (compared with other drinks fizzy or not i.e. squash) but if you are wanting to reduce calories and are drinking the diet coke/pepsi about 6+ times a day thats over 400 cals (in a drink) and that will be stored as fat if it isnt used for enegry by the body, so sticking to water (lots of it) is a better option as it's calorie free. Just add half a lemon (squeezed) to taste (if you like lemon of course).

Default diet coke

ok thanks guys but just an interesting point that 100ml diet coke is only 0.6 calories nowhere near the 400 that was mentioned!

When I put (in a drink) I wasnt meaning just the one, I was refering to drink instead of food, an extra 400 empty calories a day which as every has said including me you need to do without.

Try some water with some squeezed fruit in it to flavour it.

Please tell me the only reason you wouldnt drink a fizzy drink is because your cutting. That seems pretty harsh either way.

My hat goes off to all of you that are that strict, thats serious dedication!

Ive yet to try a cutting phase, still not big enough. Im not sure i could cut out EVERYTHING thats got calories in it though.

Im gonna end up a fat lard arse!

The way i look at it is there loads of calories and carbs in food, theres plenty in the occasional beer i might treat myself too(or ten) so i would do better not too add any more through my fluid intake. Water raises your metabolism and helps fat burning, no calories and help de-tox the body. Its a winner all round and if you get used to it you can really like the taste
