I am 20yrs of age, 5ft8 tall and weigh around 8stone - yes i am a skinny little B*stard!! I currently play football at a good non league level and not sounding bi head...i have been told I have good ability but due to my physically presence I don't show what i can do more often. I have been advised to work hard over the next 6months builing myself up for next season so that i can go on adnd maybe play league football in the future. I do find it hard to put on weight...i eat a fair amount but never gain... I have started to sort my diet out leaving out the crisps, chocolates etc. and just sticking to cereals, pasta, spaghetti, chicken, steak, kidney, veg etc. I would like advic on how Ican build on my strength and what supplemets you would recomment me using...I have been told to eat 6 small meals per day and use supplements to make these up. I want to put on more weight, my target weight is going to be 9.5/10 stone but I want that to be muscle/strength than anything else... I am going to start jogging 2-3 times a week and am investing in a multi gym and a boxing bag etc. so any advice on supplements or anything you feel i need to know would be fantastic. Cheers Chris |

(personally i use Progain by maximuscle i find it dosent bloat me up with fat which you want to avoid) Try and focus on compound movements and keep your workout to less than 30 -40 minutes 3-4 times a weeks....... keep it short and heavy thats the key Dont buy one of those multi gyms you see in argos , those things are not for building muscle, look for something like a smith machine where your using barbells and dumbells.......free weights is where its at. Also on the days you play football take an extra shake to make up for the Calories you have burned. Personally i wouldnt bother with creatine and my reasons are as follows Has to be take on empty stomach. Destroys appetite. Bloats you. Could be eating a meal instead. Lose the 2lbs in water you gained once you have stoped taking it. Also lost all the money you spent. You need to avoid running as much as you can so tick boxing and jogging off your list!! Your goal should be to gain 1-2 lbs a week Good Luck!!! |

your statements regarding Creatine are unfounded and unsubstantiated. though this is only to be expected by someone who is willing to pay Maximuscles extortionate prices. Creatine does not need to be taken on an empty stomach, it is included in many shakes and therefore not taken on an empty stomach. additionally, an insulin spike is preferable to force the Creatine into the muscle tissue, this has to be created by intake of carbs(and sometimes protein). how does it destroy appetite?? it does not course bloating, the water that is retained is intramuscular, not subcutaneous. ie, you cannot see it. why can't you eat a meal aswell? ideally you would have a meal, then take the Creatine, when Insulin has been raised. Or post training, with a shake. lose the 2lbs of water when you stop taking it? possibly. so don't stop taking it. it does not require cycling. but also remember the other gains you have made during the time taking Creatine. ....and at 15quid a kg, with 20g per day for 5 days to load, then 5g per day, it would last 185 days. this is a cost of a fraction over 8pence per day. cheers. ______________________ "You're hit man, you're bleedin"-"Ain't got time to bleed" | |

Long term use of creatine can cause serious problems to kidneys and liver this has been proven. This was told to me by my local GP after blood tests had shown that i had overdosed my system... my side effects were symptoms of dehydration and im a gallon a day drinker. I personaly found it decreased my appetite, due the to sickly taste and texture... Every creatine supplement i have used in the past had to be taken on a empty stomach (something to do with absorption) lol at the maximuscle dig...........actully Progain is the only supplement i use ......... |
