Would appreciate any opinions on the best time to take it as I'm of two minds whether the morning or evening is best, i.e., is it best taken in the morning on an empty stomach prior to working out or just after workout to theoretically have the protein and carbs etc., assimilated through the bloodstream, or in the evening (2-4 hrs before bedtime) to theoretically utilise the protein during muscle repair/growth during sleep ? scarface |

after deliberating on the matter further. Taking one if wakening during the night had'nt crossed my mind...........will try that and let you know how it goes. I've been working out now since last June and have steadily increased my workout routine, nowhere near to the same sort of level as most of the guys positing here (I'm a 40 year old smoker and drinker) but I'm well pleased with how things have progressed to date. Hope to be in fairly good condition for my September hols to the Costa Del Sol.........may even post a couple of pics here in your pics Forum shortly before I go. On another note, anyone here ever heard of or tried "Biotest mag 10" prohormone ? Review at www.gymratz.co.uk............seems very pricey. scarface "Nothing has or ever will be..........achieved by giving up !" | |

| Making Progress | I HAVE A THEORY THAT STRAIGHT AFTER YOUR WORKOUT,TAKE 3 CARBOHYDRATES TO 1 OF PROTEIN, IT MIGHT ENHANCE GAINS QUICKER THAN JUST A NORMAL PROTEIN SHAKE,IM STILL WORKING ON THIS ONE THOUGH, I'LL POST RESULTS WHEN IM FINISHED. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK. DAVE. |

| Making Progress | Funny you should say that steve, as far as i am lead to believe there is a sort of window for gains directly after training where the 3:1carbs to protein is actually more effective during the first hour, after that your body drops to pre-workout mode and its just like another small meal without the benefits. What are youre thoughts guys. Dave. |

(think that mite be the juice somehow) ______________________ no pain no gain |

| Making Progress | Hi guys It is essential in my books to make sure the right carbs are consumed after the gym along with a strong protein shake. Weider I think are the best, as they are an easy drink, one 30 minutes after training, whilst keeping warm (important for growth and gains) and then the right carbs 1 hour after a workout. Normally go for a high carb drink, or a decent carb meal like jacket potatoes. Good info from everyone else aswell, I totally agree on a shake before bed, helps the body keep working!! ______________________ "Living life at 18stone 10lbs is painful.
