Default Which discipline for escaping submission holds

As above but also to apply them as well. For example learning how to escape choke holds and so on.

Also for fighting/grappling/defending against multiple attackers.

Hi, Any grappling style is what you need. Judo, ju jutsu, brazilian jiu jitsu, submission wrestling are good ones. Good luck

i used to box for a number of years but i now do brazilian jui jitsu and i would thouroughly recommend it to anyone as it is good as a hobby but is also very useful when you get into a spot of bother with wankers (chavas most likely) on the street.

The best way to be able to escape submissions is to have knowledge of submissions yourself.....anyone will tell you its not the submission thats the hard part...its setting it up.....if you are familiar with grappling and comfortable on the ground it will give you a better chance of avoiding getting set up....if the submission hold is in deep you wont be able to escape it without either a broken bone or being put to sleep....so best to avoid being set up for it.....bjj is a good base to start learning the ground game but shouldnt be relied upon,it was generally recognised that bjj was a great way for the smaller man to compete and win on the ground...but as with everything, the ground game has evolved to where bjj alone is not enough.
