Default Day Before Weigh-Ins

Anyone any advice for day before weigh ins n general fat loss ?
I compete in mma fightin n ive come down a weight division ( theres some big boys up there at 185 lbs !!!) I've fairly low bodyfat anyway but im strugglin to lose that last 7lbs or so, upped cardio, dropped carbs n runnin eca stack at min but hit that slump n it aint shiftin. any other tips guys ?
Mainly tho i really need to nail that day before weigh in !! I can make weight 24hrs before i fight which allows for nil carbs, saunas n even starvin myself at times. then a day to stock up n re-hydrate.
there are guys in the sport goin in the cage over a stone heavier than weighed in !! how the hell they achievin this in 1 day ?? im open to any suggestions.
Also Is there anythin i cant take to drain the water out of me ??
any help much appreciated, cheers

there are many types of dieuretic mate... from mild herbal remedies... to very harsh fast acting ones that can kill...

before a show i can drop 4-6lbs of water over the course of a few days....

...but giving advice on dieuretic use is not something i would do if i dont know the person well.. or know exactly what level they know their body to!

im also not 100% sure how dropping water would affect your ability to perform the next day also... its easy to put back on tho..

im assuming you train at a gym where there may be bodybuilders who can give you some advice? or do you have a trainer who could help you out?

whereabouts do you live/train mate?

live/train in doncaster. most guys at the gym are into bodybuildin n give some good advice but with regard to longer term gains. but the 24 hr thing is new to me. im learnin more about what my body responds to each time i do it tho.
U think the herbal form are anywhere near as good as synthetic type ?? U recommend a brand name to look out for ??
Also, whats best route to take when eca stopped workin ??
Cheers mate

eca will only work for 2 weeks in all honesty mate... so should be cycled 2 on 2 off...

are you drug tested? guessing not if using eca?

clen is a good fat burner.. but has sides that people dont like!

theres lots of options with herbal dieuretics... personally before a show i use vitamin c, white wine and water balance tablets (yuo can buy from boots.. marketed for women on period)

again with dieuretics... im always very careful about offering advice as (and im not saying you personally) but there are some idiots out there who will double dose of everything... and i personally dont want to be responsible for anyones poor performance or death!! lol...

one of the guys on here bodyworks is fairly local to you (leeds i think) ill pm him and ask him to look over the thread and see if hed like to offer any advice... hes a very helpful lad and i belive owns his own gym so going up to see him may be an option. he knows his sh*t too!

its all linked in to diet etc. so to give any good advice wed need the whole picture!

when is your fight?

id appreciate u pm-in ur pal for me lee, leeds not far at all.

What u mean idiots btw ? Double the dose double the gains aint it ? lol

Im fightin quite regular at min, maybe every 3 or 4 wks so Im controllin weight pretty much constantly. I generally do it with plenty of protein n reducin carbs accordingly, its hard tho. Im trainin twice a day n without the carbs........ man im runnin on fumes sometimes !!! Its when to eat what that I need to improve. Is there a rule of thumb u'd use to diet and keep energy levels up ??

Testin pretty much non-existent at all but the top level of our sport. N even there some guys are blatently hard at it. I think as the sport grows n becomes more commercial (which is on the way) pressure'll mount to tighten things up. Its a sport that physically requires flexability, stamina, strength, the overall package, which none of us are !! So what gears' bein used by what individuals is probably really varied to suit what they need to improve.

Cheers for ur support

hope bodyworks can help mate.

with regard lowering carbs... generally this is a process called carb depletion which takes all the energy out of the muscles... flattening them and yes making you lighter... the problem here is it can actually take 2-5 days to fill your muscles back up fully!

im sure shane can explain all this for you.... id definitely advise listening to a bodybuilder on things like this as we know how to make our bodies respond drastically by only making small changes to our nutrition and supplementation.

let me know how yuo get on mate!

alot of the fighters at my gym, a few hours before whey in, if possible will sit in the sauna for an hour or so. They swear they can drop 3-4 pounds? never done it myself tho.

havent looked in on this board for quite some time....battlehawk...this is going to sound a dumb question, but are you fighting competetively ? and if so at what level ? i ask this because i found your comment about not being tested very strange...also you are fighting every 3/4 weeks   ...you are either very good and walking through people or very bad and only lasting seconds ... the time it takes to heal up and then train yourself to a peak again is much more than 3 / 4 weeks...also,are you training in a bodubuilding gym? if you are,you shouldnt be,the last thing you need to be doing if you are competing is being around bodybuilders, there diet and training will be totally different to yours, and you certainly dont want to be lifting heavy weights at all...
regarding your weight,i presume if you have come down a weight division you was easily making weight previously which again is strange,as you know the divisions in this sport is not like boxing where 4/5 pounds seperates divisions, why was you competing above your natural weight ?...losing 7 pounds in 24 hours is not a lot to ask and a pretty good position to be in 24 hours out,you will lose half of that in your sleep....get yourself in a sweatsuit and into the sauna, you,ll be surprised how quick that comes off...if you can jump on an exercise bike while in the sauna then all the better and all the quicker but be careful you dont overdo it!...if you are weighing in the day before or more than 10 hours before then as soon as you have made weight rehydrate yourself and get some food in you...the last thing you want is to be fighting a man a stone heavier than you which believe me,happens a lot when someone doesnt understand the principles of making weight.....all the best...LL
