Do you think this may be true, or not? Could this be a way to 'diet' down the flab? Or is this simply BS? Discuss... |

The way most people (on this site anyway) look at BF is as a % of overall mass. Rather than focus on losing or burning fat (which is boring and tends to involve restrictive dieting or cardio - or god help us, both) why not focus on increasing your lean mass along which in turn will reduce your body fat as a percentage of your overall mass. For instance If I weight 98kg at 13% and want to get to 10% I would prefer to do so by gaining 4.74kg of lean mass. It is true that an increase in lean mass will require more cals for maintenance and if you don't consume these you will use the most readily available source of energy. Re-reading this, I'm not sure if this answers your questions |

I understand your middle part about the ratio dropping, makes total sense. (and is where i confused myself i'd bet). Yes you have answered my Q cheers man! Tall, i hope i don't come across as a troll (can you do this on your own 1st post? i dunno), i was trying to see if what i've read before is out of date info, or true, or just rubbish. I want to make sure by asking other folk on different forums, nothing more. But... the ulterior motive was to start another thread, compare replys then see if what i stated elsewhere (where i was an A-hole) about an alternative view to beefing up, to drop bodyfat levels is viable. (but not healthy, btw. i know) Hope you're ok fella, i'll cheer up soon. Promise |

However no one keeps their diet EXACTLY the same year round so this is just theory. Over time as you get more efficient at building muscle (providing you follow a rule of continuing adaption/change) your body will become more efficent at storing glycogen and using fat as energy. However if you eat pies all the time I doubt this will ever happen. Mopst people who are seriously into getting big will clean up their diet over the years to get better. I've seen people train the same way and eat the same way for years and they never improve. Continuous improvement is what bbing is all about. ______________________ Get an extra 5% off all products at www.mosn.co.uk Use code 'MC 110' when ordering Also mod at www.uk-muscle.co.uk Excellence is a Habit not a skill Any advice I give is from my own experience, I do not recommend the use of drugs.
