I need to loose maybe 1.5 stones of flab from my middle, to be skinny. I'm doing cardio 3 times and week and weight training 3 times a week, I don't want to loose endurance and want to keep piling on the muscle. I've read things like: no carbs for 5 days, then eat them for two, or only eat carbs for breakfast and alike. Whats the sensible way to do it? I like a deacent breakfast, hot lunch and big dinner and tend to have sausages inbetween to keep the protein and metabolism doing it's thing. But I do have a slow metabolism so it's easy to overeat and the atkins deals with that nicely. |

You don't need to try something to know it no good, thats what intelligent thought and knowledge are for. To avoid making mistakes. Many peolp lose a vaste ammount of weight on the Atkins diet, predominantly due to the loss of fluids that are expelled along with the carbs (3-4g water with every gram of carbs) So if you lose 500g carbs a day from your diet, you lose another 1500-2000g of water as well. Thats about half a stone straight away. But as soon as you eat normally again, that weight goes back on. Simple maths. far better off making smaller, but permanent changes to the diet if you intend on keeping th weight off! ______________________ APPLIED KNOWLEDGE, IS POWER!!! Also - first - u dnt know if i have tried it or not and second - it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out a diet high in saturated fat is not good for you. Anyway - I'm a girl what would I know. Listen to LeeB, Paulscarb and Neil instead. Oh yeah thats right - they said the same thing ______________________ Zara Ford Account/General Manager www.physiquebodyshop.com www.scorpiofitnesswear.com Progress pics on: http://www.addictiveclubbing.com/zara-leoni http://www.physiquebodyshop.com/bb/ | |

Yeh the atkins has worked well for me, I'm not fat thanks to it and I can eat shed loads (of meat, hurrah!) it's almost perfect. But it doesn't seem to help knocking of the belly flab I've picked up in the last 6 months. That aside the main issue is just the shear difficulty, especially as I do alot of work in the field, making an atkins packed lunch is expensive and time consuming. I'll have a read through the diet articles and find something that suits me. Thanks again! |
