Personally some will disagree but it is Swimming for me. Not the silly swim 60 lengths slowly blah blah blah but 2 lengths hard 1 length slow etc so after each 2 lengths of going as fast as poss you should be really out of breath and need the slow length to calm the heart rate down then go again. Me personally I do 2 lengths hard front crawl then 1 length breaststroke and i'm knacked after 20 mins.
swimming is good cos no impact on joints and resistance against the water (check out olympic swimmers physiques against olympic runners),but needs a place to do it, running good but impact on joints, do it anywhere any time (but there are no loose dogs in swimming pools), rowing machine probably takes it for all weather, low impact and near your weights cardio????.
I used to do breastroke but I kept getting arrested when the wimmin complained.
got to be cycling over a mixed course with lots of hills...nothing better for me.
I would say the good old fashioned running machine, depending on what you want to achieve from a cardiovascular workout? Running machine will allow you to achieve all sorts of different goals. Lose weight, increase heart recovery rate and all that bla bla diddy bla![]()

I run outside myself, gets my 45 year old pumper going...lol.
I hit a heavy bag, use a treadmill on the steepest incline or go for brisk walks for cardio.
For me the best cardio is running 400 meters in intervals with one minute break between each round. This is a killer
Yes i would say cycling too, cant beat it.
Rowing for me without a doubt
