i am fat, fat ass and i am bulking right now but want to keep some kind of lung endurance.

What benefits does sprinting in short spurts have compared to jogging?

thanx for the brain cells

shin splints are an all to offen side effect that is why I am leaning towards sprinting instead of jogging because I don't want to put my legs through anymore pain than I already do. tya

Hi Bootneck01, another ex-squadie here.
Welcome to civvi street!
To save my joints Ive taken up power walking. Ive been told by the gym instructors that this uses up more calories than jogging. I gradually speed up the treadmill from 5.5 kph to 6.5 kph and sustain that speed for 30 minutes. Really gets up a sweat.

I advise the people I help prep for bodybuilding contests to fill a rucksack with wet washing and go power walking, the extra weight really works their calves, legs and glutes. Its good low impact cardio and can be done at any time.

I also prefer cycling on the road and on the stationary bike too, the stationary bike allows you to watch tv, etc and do your cardio at home where actual road cycling is better cardio thanks to hills and road conditions. I like the bike because it has no negative impact on the joints unlike running.
