Pre contest Walking the dogs for an hour as soon as I get up before any food, 1 try and keep a pace up which is uncomfortable - ie not bimbling along about 30 - 45 mins off season.
I find if I try high intensity muscle weight falls off me like mad.

Aww okay, I will post this workout. Any cardio torturing device will do:

Warm up: 5 minutes at a very easy pace
Rounds: three minutes each. Crank up tension/pace as high as you can handle for 60 seconds. Then back off at a moderate pace for 2 minutes.
Cool down: 5 minutes easy pace
Total time: 19 minutes including warm up and cool down

I usually start off at 9.9 for five minutes and my intense range is btwn 13.5 and 15.0. I use the 2nd interval of 3 minutes has my highest sprinting pace.

If you need any more information just send me a message. It burns tons of calories afterwords, via EPOC.

Ahh a bit like HIIT but with 2mins breather. I'm just starting 5 warm up and then 2x8 60second sessions - 12mph and then 3mph.

I used to do the bike when I was much heavier. I've always enjoyed running. I do a really good jump rope workout too with mountain climbers. Although, the women at the gym give me the dirtiest looks you've ever seen.

I hate running. Bores me senseless. Boredom threshold for me on the runner is about 8mins - if I can get past 13mins though I can stay on forever.
