i think doing DB presses are a safer option if your wanting to hit all 3 deltoid heads.
prexhaust or supersetting with lateral raises(if you must lol)

Just to be different and while I agree pressing adds bulk etc, and always form part of my routine, my favorite exercise is lying side raise ala Serge Nubret, if you haven't done these they are the most intense isolation exercise I know for side delts and pump my side caps like mad. Leave the ego at the door you ain't going to be able to do much weight and will have most looking on wondering what the hell you are doing with those little weights - easy answer get them to try a set....

Same could be said for lateral db raises.Personaly my medials have come on leaps and bounds since i dropped the weight and went for slow movement and good form instead of trying to fly holding a pair of 25's,swinging all over the place.

I take it the laying side raise is performed laying on your side on a bench, again never seen these done so would be interesting to give it a go. From laying on your side holding a db in one do you raise the weight all the way up to above you head ? cheers

looks like a good exercise mate, are there any advantages to doing this exercise standing up? wondering if sitting down would be better as it would les strain on the back !!
Also are behind the neck presses not considered bad for your shoulder or at least a high risk of injury occuring? I was also told not to do behind the neck press as its easy to get injured ?

I tend to do all my overhead pressing standing its a good way to work on the lower back and other secondary suport muscle. I found it easyer to stay safe because seated you can assume loads of funky load bearing postions that you wouldnt normaly be able to do standing.

Behind the neck pressing, I dont see it as a danger movement, With that sort of thing within reasion its usualy the person performing the exersise in a incorect way thats the danger not the exersise.

I found its much easyer to be strick with behind the neck pressing. But then everyone has opinions on this.
