| Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Belfast Posts: 116 Rep Power: ![]() | Saw this guy at the gym today doing crunches with a foam roller under his lower back and his butt off the floor. He was a big guy - looked like he'd just recently competed. What's the benefit? Is it not bad for you back? Never seen anyone do them like that before. |

Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 632 Rep Power: ![]() | Do you mean reverse crunches?Was he just raising his legs and butt off the floor?They're actually better for your back.You're not putting as much pressure on the lower part of your spine by using your legs as the resistance as opposed to using your torso.The foam rollers just a cushion.Swiss ball crunches are a better exercise,bearing in mind you dont have any back issues. ______________________ "Practice puts brains in your muscles" |
