Ill need an operation later on in the year though.... |

Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 626 Rep Power: ![]() | To be honest with you,i don't really believe that front or rear barbell or dumbell shrugs are all that different from one another.At the end of the day your still,erm,shrugging! Pick your weapon,stick with it,find a weight thats heavy but managable and keep the reps slow and controlled,really feel your traps sqeazing.Hold for a second at the top and a nice slow control down.Form is where the gains are here.Dumbell back fly's hit 'em too of course! ______________________ "Practice puts brains in your muscles" |

| Making Progress | mr Ali,,,over 10 years training and you have never seen anyone do shrugs from holding the bar from behind,,lol,,you need to get out more bruv,,,lol lol,,good reponse from people tho.I do 3 sets back and just to make sure i do another 3 sets in front,,,, I always do deads and back flys too... ______________________ BENCH PRESS 100KG 1 X 1 DEADS 140KG 1 X 1 SQUATS 140KG 1 X 1 5'6 75KG AND STILL GROWING |

I'm doing 20rep Hise Shrugs at the moment - Shrugs with the Barbell on your traps. As its winter the grip in my hands is really sucky at the moment (too many broken bones) - but doign Hise Shrugs means I can shrug 160kg with good form, without my grip being the weak link in the chain... | |
