Default Alternave calf training??

A few years back I had an injury whereby I snaped my fibia and tibia and shattered ny heel and the ball of my ankle. I have been pretty much rehabilitated although now I have limited movement in my right ankle, as such, I find it very diffit to work my right calf as it is difficult for me to raise my right foot onto 'tiptoes' (I hope u understand what I'm trying to expalin) anywho, does anyone have any suggestions on how I can work my calves wen unable to 'efficiently' practice exercises such as calf raises. I did consider buying one of those machines that sends an electrical pulse thru the muscle, does anyone have any experiance with these?? Thanks in advance.

firstly i`d say if youve got a ROM you can use make the most of that.
secondly if that isnt enuff which will probly be the case make the most of deads and squats as they do help build calves.
thirdly if you can find a way to grow calves-
tell me!

I dont often calf raise on my tip toes as I lose balance etc...

Try tip toe'ing more on the ball of your foot.

Ive noticed cyclists having really good calves as it happens! Perhaps some cycling nath?

yeah, thats not a bad idea, my girlfriend suggested that if i walked around in a pair of highheels, that would work my calves, I informed her that such practices should be reserved for weekends only!!

altho theyre techincally proven to work i doubt one of those stimulus machines would do anything for growth-
altho with my upcoming op i must confess to pondering the idea a little.
you gotta remember cyclist do silly amounts of miles and usually epo...
i do loads of walking and never noticed any subsequent growth-toning yeah..

right then so its watching rocky horror on saturday nite for me then!!!

Try rocking.Thats back and forth with dumbell's not side to side with a dodgy mullet to the sound of 'it's the final countdown'.Ooh the cheese!

Balancing boards are good too.You can make your own using an old Wok and half a house brick!
