Most BCAA supplements instruct to take the supp before and after workouts. I would have thought that BCAA's should be taken throughout the day to maintain a positive nitrogen balance and retain muscle. I think a supp like this would be ideal for retaining muscle when ripping down. I was also thinkin of getting some MET-Rx Apmed in. Any thoughts? |

The key reason to take them around (or as I prefer, during) workouts is to stop catabolism when you are stressing your body. For the most part, when you are inactive, even on a diet, you don't need to worry excessively about burning muscle. However when engaged in exercise, you do. IMO if you do fasted cardio, they are essential. They taste pretty bad, but I use Xtend, it's a decent during-workout drink. |

This works for me because I tend to shy away from cardio as i severely shed muscle when performing cardio so if they can help prevent this, ill give them a go. |
