| whats going on, i have none of the videos of the pros training so i got looking at some on youtube, i was expecting to see perfect form for all but the last rep or so but this wasn't the case at all, i am basically wanting to know weather they train like this all of the time or are they just using heavier weights for the purpose of the viewers? | |

| This has been discussed on another thread. http://www.musclechat.co.uk/ask-pro/...ge-weight.html The last post on there by Shredded probably answers your question. | |

People shouldn't copy the Pros - they've found what works for them and lets not forget how many years of lifting and years of 'assisted' training they've had... The average trainee should just be aiming for good form and poundage progression. But if we are on about 'cheating' i.e. using the back when curling - check out this video of Ricky Bruch doing 'Bruch Curls' ( I think this is the one anyway...) : http://s23.photobucket.com/player.sw...9685&os=1&ap=1 I've seen him doing a similar thing but with 4 plates per side....!! |

Conversely I’ve been watching an old Dorian Yates video, he’s using also using heavy weights but along with , excellent form and full range of motion. I’ve also been watching a Labrada DVD recently again super strict form. Most of the modern pro DVD are made by the same production company I think it’s just the way the pro’s are being marketed, they look like supermen / freaks (delete as appropriate) so must lift enormous weights, the problem is less experienced trainers watch them and believe it’s the way to train, half the kids in the gym do loose partials with way to much weight and guess what they’re the ones who never seem to put any muscle on. Go heavy but go strict and squeeze the contraction! |

| I saw this one guy yesterday about my age (21) and didn't look as though he was muscular at all. His Bicep curl was interesting, imagine if you had velcro patches on your knees and you bent over putting in all of your might to rip them off and then nearly falling backwartds as you put them on your ears. All of the time the knees are bent and your whole body is swaying all over the place. That is the only way i can describe what i saw...god knows where he learnt it! | |
