Default back

Alright lads.

This is my current training plan
Day 1: Rest
Day 2: Back - deadlifts, pulldown
biceps - Standing barbell curls , incline barbell curls
Day 3: Rest
Day 4: Chest - flat bench, incline barbell press
triceps - Close grip press, dips
Day 5: Rest
Day 6: Legs - squats, hamstring curls
shoulders - Barbell Shoulder Press, upright rows
Day 7: Rest

I'm not happy with my current back routine. Firstly, my deads aren't going welll i can't get to the 8th rep without feeling really light headed. I'm not really lifting that heavy (i used to lift more until i focused on strict form). Cardio has been mentioned but i'm still looking to bulk up ( 6'2.5 and 14.5 stone). Also i changed the bent over row to the pulldown a few months ago as i have dodgy legs and i just couldn't do the exercise as i was resting on a nerve. I would like to do an other lower back excercise though. Does sitting on the bench and resting on the chest on a 45 degree angle seem ok? Then just doing the exercise the same. It looks the same but just puts less pressure on the legs. That would mean 3 different exercises for the back. Is that ok? I could perhaps cut the deads and pulldown sets from 3 to 2 then do 2 of this row so that the time stays the same.
thanks in advance
steve

unless you train with the intensity of a beast, you're not doing enough imo.
i particularly like this 'Day 6: Legs - squats, hamstring curls
shoulders - Barbell Shoulder Press, upright rows'.

Howdee...

Deads - if you can't get passed 8 reps without feeling light headed then you may need to check you are breathing while doing them... Alot of people think holding your breath will help you... It doesn't...

Or you can always just not try for 8 reps at what ever weight you are doing...

How many reps and sets of each exercise are you doing...?

Why are you only doing the same number of exercises for the big muscles as the little muscles...?

Nothing wrong with hammy curls but they aren't the best exercise if you want to mass.

Do you have a seated row machine? If you can get comfortable lying face down on an incline bench you can do that... Or you can do single arm dumbell rows...

Squats are 'teh win' for pretty much everything. ala want big arms then get squatting etc etc etc

Pikey's just got me to add them back in as a 2set triple drop set. I'll monitor my progress

What I do want though is lats like BW's - mate they are flipping huge!

the 'squat for big arms' thing is being taken a little too literally sometimes i think. squatting will build a bigger stronger physique, but if you have particularly lagging arms, i suggest training them to make them grow. controversial i know.

Thanks for all the replys lads.

I'll check my breathing for the deads, perhaps that is the problem.

I do 3 sets of 8-10 for every exercise.
