no dont do behind the neck presses and dont see why anyone would do behind the neck pull downs!! I rest the bar on the thickest part of my traps just above my shoulders. its really annoying as i was grtting good at squats!!!

Now from how I remember this you shouldn't rest the bar on your traps, just on your delts I think... The bar should go behind your traps ... I think...

Squats depends high or low bar but assuming high then really the best way I can discribe it is on top of your rear delt not high up on your neck.

Agree with ths on deadlift form but personally I wouldn't perform both full bore in the same week. When I was deadlifting I'd do so once a fortnight and lightish squat that week and heavy squat on the alternate week.

Behind neck work has it's place, pull downs help with upper back density - chances are if this is causing neck pain its down to bad form and excessive weight. PBN is one of my favorite compound shoulder exercises again you just need to learn how to do them.

Find a gym with good instructors or a knowlegable guy most guys with experience are only to happy to help if asked.

(High Bar / Low Bar = Powerlifter talking so listen!)

Pikey - aren't behind the neck exercises known for causing rotator cuff issues...?
Or is it just the fact that most people don't do enough rotator cuff work in general...?
