See ive read etc...
That going light is the way to go but using really good form. I even asked Jay Cutler about reps and he was like stick with around 12 on a lighter weight as its best for size. |

you just posted a thread about TUT (yime under tension) and i think thats very important on calves personally.
I think a rep cadence of 4/2/4 is the way to go. Take 4 seconds to lift the weight, pause and contract the muscle for 2 seconds at the top, then lower 4 seconds. It is gonna HURT ______________________ Opinions are like as*holes.......Everybody has one |

That sounds interesting bulldozer.
Going for a more slow pace. Ive always gone quite fast but aimed for like 25 reps. It kills as well. ill give the 4-2-4 thing a try for a bit. |

Lifting a weight with a rep cadence of 4/2/4 takes all momentum out of the lift, i.e , the weight doesnt fall to the ground. You resist against gravity. If your with me. The same as lifting a weight, you dont use momentum. Its slow and controlled. Many roads to rome, its just another variable you can add to your training. ______________________ Opinions are like as*holes.......Everybody has one |

My calfs never really seem to grow, they just seem to become stronger and more defined. Slow reps, faster ones, high reps low reps I've tried it all. Im working on the principal that heavy squating requires big calfs, although still do seated calf raises.
