Default Racks Deads and Zercher Squats

Any one do them? Did you find they helped your deadlifts?

Now that Chris Jenkins has dissapeared, do we have any big deadlifters on the board?

Forgive my ignorance tall, heavy and no longer all that skinny, but are rack deads when you lift the bar of a rack? Infact, what is a zercher squat?

Zercher Squats are supposed to improve where you have problems getting the weight off the floor.

Once I have the weight off the floor I'm fine through the ROM. Its just getting it off the floor...

Box squats are supposed to be very effective at that. You have to set the box at the right height of your sticking point tho

Sorry - too many beers.

Zerchers are supposed to help deads off the floor - which is my problem at the moment.

I used to do both when I was messing about doing strongman stuff. Really help strengthen you lower back....but also help f**k it up too if you don't get 'em right!!

Ah, saw somebody doing zercher sqauts the other day. Never seen them before. I could imagine they would be difficult to do with a heavy weight due to the way you hold the bar.

And infact, I do rack deadlifts all the time, with the pin located about a quarter off a meter of the floor. I do these because I was advised to because of my shape and my lower back problems. I do actually feel much more comfortable doing these, and I maintain a better form thoughout the ROM.
