Why is it that some people are so intent on turning a visit to the gym into a social event. I've just had what started as a really intense leg workout interrupted by some idiot who I've never spoken to before wanting to tell me about his sore wrist, the fact that he's just started a new job and the fact that his wife might be pregnant. How do you deal with these people. I wasn't aggressive in anyway to him but I know i probably came across as a bit rude due to the fact that I basically just ignored him apart from a couple of one word answers. I then ended up feeling like a bit of a **** and the end result is my leg workout was totally ruined. Is it just me or has anyone else experienced this. |

I've resorted to wearing my ipod even though I never have it turned on so I just smile and point to my headphones so they think I can't hear them. The second gym I tried over here was full of loones asking me about steroids. The gym I'm in now I thought would sort things out but even the language barrier didn't stop some fckwit from trying to tell me how to use a EZ bar. I wouldn't have minded but the guy had around 10k on it and was reading from a leaflet on what to do in the gym!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another guy who unfortunately spoke English decided to tell me I was lifting too heavy, WTF? There's a reason I'm bigger than him, lifting pussy weights for countless reps and taking 15 mins in between to talk to your mate isn't going to help you grow. And as for the numpty **** heads that feel the need to surround themselves with all the Dbells they're going to need for the entire 1 hour or so session while they are there leaving everyone else short on equipment.....Christ, I'm gonna stop now before I spend the whole night writing in this post. |

I'll say "just let me do a set" then I'll carry on talking to them. Not a problem at all for me. ______________________ http://WWW.HulahoopsAreAQualityCompleteProteinSource.Com |

PMSL @ ALiM - 'the look' - your obsessed mate! If your in the middle of a set just say "1sec" and finish your set. Weight your 60 - 90seconds or what ever and then just say the samething again and start your next set. They will end up either cutting the conversation short or whatever or diving on to a machine they wanna use. They will soon get the idea that you are focussed. | |

But when I finish what I have to say I just carry on with my set, its up to them if they want to stick around and wait for me to finish. ______________________ Get an extra 5% off all products at www.mosn.co.uk Use code 'MC 110' when ordering Also mod at www.uk-muscle.co.uk Excellence is a Habit not a skill Any advice I give is from my own experience, I do not recommend the use of drugs. Even though it is good to communicate with others in the gym cos you never know when you might need assistance or a spotter sometime. Saying that when i train i do speak with others but i do not let this slow down my workout, i will crack off another set if someone is talking to me or not. Serious trainers will know what needs to be done and will not take offense to you completing a set while they are talking or they will wait for you to finish. |
