Default need loads of good advice!

ive been training for nearly 4 years now but made practically no difference, people even comment asking if i gave up training cuz its not done anything! i did plenty of research on both the diet and training sides. ive followed garys begginer routine for a good year now with no gains on my image nor strength( i cant do no more then 20 press ups without failing). im 26, 6ft tall and got long skinny arms an legs an desperately want to thicken up. i try to get 5 meals a day high in protein an carbs-all healthy stuff as i understand fast food wont help. i only seem to put on weight around my waist tho? i dont drink or smoke either. i do feel very tired and feel very weak all the time. id be very grateful for some advice as nothing seems to work at all!

one thing that occurs bud-
i bet its not cos youre not putting enuff effort in!
if youre tired all the time i`m guessing you need to rest more.
i have been in a similar situation to you from what your saying.

i now follow a low volume routine with the focus being on nothing but poundage progression concentrating mainly on squat/deadlift type movements every third day.
for example
A
squats
bench press
dips
calve raises
B
deads
military press
chins
bicep curls

if youre gaining weight around youre waist eat less.
bulking in my etremely humble opinion is a much abused word for nattys.

pm me if you`d like a free copy of beyond brawn aka my bible

Hello mate...have you considered going to the docs and explaining your fatigue and weakness. I only suggest this as my good mate had similar symptoms and found after a visit to his GP that he had an underactive thyroid gland. He now takes a pill a day and is as right-as-rain.

If you've been following the diet and training regime with dedication than some progress should be evident.

i agree it would be worth getting your thyroid tested.. however.. dont mention that you are currently training... as many doctors may find you have an underactive thyroid and not prescribe because it only bothers you that you can not gain muscle... simply tell them that you are tired and lethargic etc. etc. and that you have treid exercise in the past and got no results.
