Default training whilst aching..............

had a bit of time off the gym and have just started up again properly. had a chest session the other day and have been aching for days as 2 be expected. my question is... is it better to lay off training until my muscles have fully recovered and feel as good as new. iv always just left training in the past until i feel fully rcovered and give my muscles enough rest. i know i could go down and do back and bis or something but my chest is so sore i think it would stretch it and hence stand in the way of full growth. whats ur views on this guys.

i am a self confessed anti overtraining freak-
i`d wait till i was totally recovered-
or at a real push have a light workout for your back....but i agree your chest would still get more work than it needs when it should be recovering-
you could do some cardio instead

Personally, If I waited to train again before I had no aches I'd probably only train once a week. I altered my chest workout two weeks ago, didnt do many sets but it ached for about 5 days. Post work out pains often dont kick in for me until about 36 hours later...and they normally last two-three days. So, I try to train alternatly muscles groups which don't over lap (if that makes any sense).

yeah i get what ur saying mate. However, surely if ur chest is aching and you do, for example, back then ul still be using some of those muscles and they wont fully recover. hopefully 1nce i get back into my training, after 2 months or so the aching will subside a bit and wont be as severe. i must adnit though, i love the feeling of ur muscle when they ache coz u know uv hit the right spot and the muscles are growing.
