Default Back before legs

Mid way through Squat session I'll get a gradually increasing pain in the lower back particularly on the left hand side. Its not muscle pull or trapped nerve its simply fatigue! I'm sure there is more in my legs but I cant get it out due to the fatigued back.. Presumably my sqatting form is suspect...any hints and tips on form? Verne

How's your deadlift strength in comparison with squat?

first thing that springs to mind is to use less range of motion which may agree more with your back-as it does mine

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago, and as you said, it didnt feel like a regular strain or pull.

Since then I started using a wide lifting belt pulled as tight as possible helps to maintain better back posture and encourage the legs to do the work.

Works for me

hard to say exactly what it is in my opinion. a guess would be your overstretching that muscle during the movement. stretch your back thoroughly BEFORE your session so any load put onto it isnt hitting a cold muscle as such. and get someone experienced to check out your form.... then make changes from there.
