Default Feeling very drained

Is it normal to feel really drained after hard training? Obviously hard work makes you feel shattered all over but i tend to feel it most in my face and around my eyes like im really tired, im better after a shower and a lie down on the sofa.

if u have had a great session and pushed yourself to the limit then after training the shakes and feeling tired are normal, ive added more intesity of late to my training and now need a 40 minute kip after traning. ill have a top quality MRP after traning then ill sleep and awake and eat food.

if you get the shakes after training its cos you need some food not cos u have trained too hard mate. basically your body is craving carbs and needs insulin spike!

Lee surley the shakes and feeling wiped out is a good sign, and yes straight after workout one needs to refuel.

If you came from the gym thinking you could do it all again then surely you aint done it right in the first place.

For me if im not wiped out and feeling sick then i aint done enough.

Right in what your saying Lee but is the craving not brought on by a good session of weights. i mean if you did not push yourself hard enough then your body would not crave carbs? as it would not of used all its supply of energy up.

intersting thread.

Roughly 5 mins after training i take some L-Glutamine, 15 mins after that i down my shake which consists of 2 scoops of whey concentrate in milk (NO CARBS). My muscles obviously feel done in but its the feeling i get in my eyes and face that concerned me.
So i guess i just rest while tea is cooking then Munch, or should i add some carbs to my shake??

yes bud carbs are just as important post training-blend up some oats and a nana in skimmed milk.

training till you get the shakes isnt a good thing
if anything you should be feeling buzzed and energetic after training

I normally leave the gym feeling as If I could do more, the only reason I dont is because I would probably be overtraining if I did.
