Default COLD and HOT Baths

anyone know with regards to training why some atheletes choose to have an ICE BATH and why others have hot baths after training?

hot baths can reduce any aches and pains and also help sweat out some water...

cold baths could help mith muscle/tendon tears and strains after training, also they can help elevate the bodies metabolism slightly (your cold so body needs to burn calories to heat itself back up).

i simply prefer a cold shower cos it wakes me up and i feel fresher!
