Never really done them properly before because I pulled my back doing them when I first started training about 6 years ago and never took them up. But after being advised to do them and reading on this forum that I really ought to, I am working them into my routine. My back is f***ed and it also hit my forearms, quads and delts. After doing them I felt really good, and went on to lift more on the T-bar row then I ever have done before because they really put me in the mood and got me focused. Just a few questions about them because I am bit thick... Should I hit the floor with the weights each time I do a rep, wait a second and then do another? How many reps should I do in each set....about 12, 8 and then 6? (I am only asking this beacuse they seem completely different from any other exersizes that I do and so I thought that maybe the lifting etiquette was different for them. Also, I have been told they cause the body to release alot of hormones. This is a bit dumbed down so I wondered If any one on here could elaborate on it for me. Thank you kind people, Humphrey Thistlewait. |

| Illuminati | i`d let the plates touch the floor each rep. i usually keep reps and weight the same for all sets-so only the last set is truely hard. 3x15 5x5 its all good. if you want to change weights each set-go for it. yup deads and squats do do things to your hormones but i`ll let someone else explain that LOLOLOL ______________________ einsteins mind was the key to all things...to understand more than to know. www.englishmuscle.co.uk www.extremenutrition.co.uk |

| Illuminati | i guess it doesnt matter if your form is correct,i didnt mention rest pause deadlifts, but imo theyre an even better way to go. perfect form on every rep as you can set yourself up every time. its true i lift how i do due to my back probs, but i`d never go back to continuous reps for deads regardless... ______________________ einsteins mind was the key to all things...to understand more than to know. www.englishmuscle.co.uk www.extremenutrition.co.uk |

(talking 6 eps or less sets) Above six reps I control the downward motion much more but I still let the weight touch the floor as my form is better this way |

| Making Progress | As said by Yg and Crazycal above i too also think that letting the weight touch the floor is the way to go. I also highly rate rest pause type deadlifting. ( with maybe 10 seconds inbetween reps) Gives u chance to get your form 100 % and gives your back just that little rest. |

| Making Progress | Again, i'd agree with the above. I rest pause them, maybe only a couple of seconds between reps, maybe more! depends how much weight im pulling. Another thing, they're not called "dead - lifts" for nothing! ;-) ______________________ eat beef get big!!! |

I always put the weights to the floor although I have noticed that sometimes its hard to pull another rep as I have put them to the floor and paused perhaps next time I will try and keep the tension going and hoepfully get a few more reps. I do love the deadlift it gets you going and encourages me to do more for the rest of the routine. Merry christmas folks! ______________________ Rome wasn't built in a day |
