I haven't been able to do any bicep work for the past month as I've picked up an injury... and it's starting to really get me down. I have a feeling I trained a little too heavy, felt a bit uncomfortable but as I was warmed up and well into my workout, I carried on........ and have damaged my bicep tendon? I can't even do a double bicep pose. can't do any curls, barbell or dumbbell, even doing dumbbell side lateral raises is painful. the only way they've been getting a workout is through my back training, but I know that's not enough. has anyone else had to train through a similar injury and does anyone have any advice? :? It's a physiological thing too.... the biceps (in my opinion) are a major part of the physique.... because I haven't been able to work mine, they've become flat - no pump and are don't compliment my arm development... if that makes sense..my triceps are fine. |

Manipulate Chest Shoulders and Tri exercises to not cause any major pain or further stress to your injury and just focus on improving other bodyparts for a while. All you can do. I know what you mean about Bi's though bud. |

I'll start to work in some light bicep work and see how i get on. nice one. Slim ![]() |

BUT as bodyworks says, keep training biceps... to keep the blood flowing through the muscle and the tendon so it doesnt actually weaken from not training.. as guess what will happen if you let it weaken and then start training again???? itl prob go POP!! voltarol cream on the area 3 times a day should also help with limiting the amount of inflammation! ______________________ If your not a part of the greatest... you got to be the greatest yourself! This will encourage fresh blood flow into the muscle bringing nutrients that will aid and hopefully speed up recovery. As it your bicep it is pretty easy to do yourself. Try first warming the muscle up by rubbing it up and down (sounds a bit iffy but bare with me) with the palm of your hand, then small circular movements with your thumb or finger starting in the insersion in the crook of the elbob and work up the bi to its origin. Then use your fingers rubbing across the muscle (again from insersion to origin). Then raise you arm and cup your fingers and thumb around the inside of the elbow joint and push down along the muscle towards your shoulder to help drain any toxins towards the lymph node in your arm pit. Its not going to be a miracle cure but hopefully it will speed up the recovery process and encourage blood flow to the muscle and help retain some muscle tone whilst you are unable to train it as intensly as you would like. I hope this helps a wee bit! |
