What exercise is best for giving thickness to the biceps.

all of them!

it depends on what part of your arm you want the thickness... its more to do with hand positioning than actual exercises..

for instance... sit on a preacher bench with a light dumbell in one hand... experiment with performing the rep with the weight pulled into the body (i.e. in centre of bench) or pushed away from the body (i.e. toward side of the bench) you should notice how the stress on the muscle moves from the inside to the outside of teh muscle!! - the elbow should remain close to your body at all times!

I'd say as long as you are performing a full range of motion bicep curl with an appropriate amount of weight, you will engage all the muscle fibres and give thickness to the biceps..
