Default Weights & cardio together????

I want to lose some weight around the belly, but will mixing weights and cardio in one session prevent my muscle gains?

I've heard you lose more fat doing weight training then cardio!! is this true?

thanks.

Low intensity cardio, so heart rate 120 - 140BPM, for 1 hour in the morning, is the most ideal in my opinion, but not at the same time as weights.

Ideally split the cardio and the weights up by 6 - 8 hours.

Also, hammer the protein around the cardio and weights sessions to stop the cortisol killing your muscles.

Doing lots of cardio will prevent muscle gains, don't expect to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time unless you are (a) a beginner (b) on gear (c) genetically blessed.

Nick

If you do the low intensity cardio Nick suggested, stick firmly to a good clean diet and do a hefty dose of abs work in your programme, you can bring your belly down and not jeopardise your mass building.

I still think the 2 goals conflict slightly. I can't imagine from what you've said in other threads that your belly is sticking out that much. Why not devote three months to putting size on and then have a smiliar amount of time cutting. Or vice versa

By the way, if you and Jonstan are mates, why don't you use each other to help stick to the diet and to motivate each other with your training. It seems like you've got pretty much the same goals

yer Im going to just bulk up with a new diet, it just worries me that if i start eating 6-8 times a day, im just going to get a bigger belly!! Even if i dedicate myself to training properly!!

Jon doesn't think im very serious about training because i was going to jump straight into steroids!!! but can still help each other!!

thanks.

If you follow the diet advice you've been given, you'll be fine. If your 6-8 meals a day are big macs, then you're right to worry.

Chill out Zane and get on with it. If you put as much energy into your workouts as you do worrying, you'd be the size of a tank by now.

Keep us updated on your progress. You've got me hooked for one
