Default Restricted Gym Time

Advice please guys.

During the school holidays I can only get to the gym four times a week (I do five days at present). I've got some weights at home, so I can still train five days but I want to make the best use of the four days at the gym.

I was thinking of leaving shoulders and biceps for home training as there would be no or minimal change to the sets I do at the gym. For shoulders I would do: front press; upright rows and lat raises (front, rear and sides). For biceps I can do barbell curls and any of the dumbbell curls (the only thing missing would be preacher curls)

So,this is the plan:
Monday (at gym): Chest & triceps
Tuesday (at gym) Back & Abs
Wednesday (at Home): Shoulders & biceps
Thursday (at gym): Legs & Abs
Friday (at gym); Chest & Triceps

The following week, everything gets shifted up a day, so I would do back on the MOnday & Friday

Anyway, thats the idea. Can anyone see any flaws in this or a better way to organise it.Thanks

Why don't you just have the Wednesday off. You'll probably have more intense workouts plus with the extra workload from school, you'll probably need a bit more rest.
I personally would do
mon. chest & triceps
tue. Shoulders & traps & abs
wed off
thu. legs & abs
fri.Back & biceps.
weekend off

Not a bad idea Chalk. I wouldn't normally like the idea of a day off but you're right - the extra rest would probably be more beneficial. And it is only for six weeks.

Cheers mate

i probably have more rest days than anyone else on this site-
as far as i`m concerned rest is as important as diet.
chalks right have a day off-
subsequent workouts will be more intense 8)

Well, I took Chalk and Cal's advice and today has been a rest day and its been easier than I feared.

I had 6 clients at work back to back, so didn't have much time to be thinking about what I was missing and therefore, I didn't find myself bouncing off the walls.

It's all about changing mindset, so that I don't see a rest day as negative and fatal to my programme but as helpfulto achieving my goals.

Having said all that, I did pack my workout clothes this morning just in case I got a cancelation and could nip to the gym. Old Habits die hard (a film starring Bruce Willis about terrorists taking over a convent)
