Ideally aim for about 10 - 14 sets on chest imo if you are consistently hitting 10 - 12 reps by the 6th set, then no way are you pushing it intensely enough on the earlier sets. I find hugely diminishing rep amounts between my sets, for example if i'm doing bench press, i'll do 6 followed by 4 followed by about 2 or 3 typically when doing a set of 3 ______________________ - Obsession is what lazy people call dedication - |

| Making Progress Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Spain Posts: 262 Rep Power: ![]() | As Nick said, seems a lot of set, but if it's not broken.....etc. If your gains start slowing down significantly try increasing the weights and REDUCING the number of exercises and sets. Don't fall into the old trap of believing more is better! |
